The significant number of PhDs and science graduates in our staff, as well as our long-standing links to academia have enabled the set up and operation of cutting edge technologies that have been imported from the pharmaceutical world into the cosmetic arena.

The use of techniques such as combinatorial chemistry and solid phase synthesis enables us to prepare hundreds of thousands of molecules in a time and cost effective way.

Our proficiency in biochemistry and biotechnology allows us to design high throughput screening tests sensitive enough to detect the activity of one molecule within a mixture of thousands. We can then select the appropriate candidates that will be later developed for cosmetic applications, speeding up a process that would take many years.

A traditional technology platform that is central to Lipotec’s success is delivery systems. Over the years we have specialised in different kinds of liposomes and nanoparticles for enhanced delivery of actives. We have also mastered several types of encapsulation techniques, including microcapsules and millicapsules, in order to protect labile ingredients and keep them fresh until their use

Our R&D follows a multidisciplinary approach that combines expertise from fields such as biotechnology, chemistry and pharmacy. Current trends towards in vitro efficacy and toxicity testing have lead us to build a modern cell culture lab where we can monitor the efficacy of our new raw materials at the molecular level and screen their safety acoording to the latest guidelines.
